England fans left furious as BBC are hit by issue in DR Congo clash
Many fans were left frustrated after the BBC's coverage of England's round of 32 clash against DR Congo cut out unexpectedly for several seconds.
In the 53rd minute of the match, with England behind and fighting for a way back into the game after DR Congo's early opener in the first half, BBC screens suddenly froze as Jude Bellingham collected the ball inside the penalty area.
Over 15 seconds later, the screens returned to the sound of fans inside the stadium reacting loudly to an important incident, but BBC viewers were left guessing over what had happened.
Replays soon showed that Bellingham had shimmied inside the penalty area and forced an important save out of Lionel Mpasi.
Most fans, though, used it as an opportunity to criticise England's dismal performance.
One fan posted on X: 'Disappointed the BBC feed just went off, even more disappointed its come back on…. #worldcup #england.'

Many supporters joked that the blackout was better than watching England against DR Congo
Another added: 'The game is so bad the BBC can’t broadcast it any longer hehe #England #DRCongo #ENGDRC #FIFAWordCup.'
'The BBC should left on that black screen. Better viewing than England playing,' a third posted on X.
A fourth stunned fan said: 'Did BBC glitch?!'
Other fans hit out at TV licences in the process.
'BBC want me to pay tv licence for it to glitch lol,' an X user added.
Another said: 'Did we just get a glitch from the BBC? Thank god for replays! We did pay for our TV licence!'

Add The California Post on GoogleJoe Kelly is not done with baseball. He is just taking his fastball, edge and unmistakable personality to a different dugout.
The former Dodgers reliever has joined Corona High School’s baseball program as an assistant coach, beginning a new chapter after a 13-year MLB career that included three World Series rings, October dominance and a reputation as one of baseball’s great modern characters.

Corona is not just any high school program. The Panthers have become one of the most heavily scouted teams in the country under coach Andy Wise, producing elite prospects, national attention and a historic 2025 draft class. In recent years, Corona has been a CIF Southern Section power and one of California’s premier baseball factories.
Kelly brings a resume few high school staffs can match.

A third-round pick by the Cardinals in 2009, Kelly debuted in 2012 and later pitched for the Red Sox, Dodgers and White Sox. He appeared in 485 games, threw 839 innings and finished with a 3.98 ERA. His best work often came in October, including a dominant 2018 postseason with Boston and another title run with the Dodgers in 2020. He also earned a third ring with Los Angeles in 2024.
But numbers were never the full Joe Kelly story.

He threw hard, sometimes wildly, and always with attitude. Dodgers fans embraced him after his viral showdown with the Astros, when he mocked Carlos Correa with the famous pouty face during the sign-stealing scandal fallout. He leaned into the “Wild Thing” comparisons, wore No. 99 with the Dodgers and even gave up No. 17 to Shohei Ohtani, a move that led to Ohtani gifting Kelly’s wife, Ashley, a Porsche.
This will not technically be Kelly’s first coaching experience, though his last dugout assignment came with, of course, a little chaos.
On the “Baseball Isn’t Boring” podcast, Kelly recently told a wild story about being punched while coaching his 9-year-old son’s team, which feels about right for a player who spent his career making baseball a little louder, stranger and certainly more entertaining.
Now, Corona gets the baseball version of Kelly: intense, unfiltered and experienced.
He may no longer be pitching in the majors, but he is still very much in the game.

Woke California city goes to war with Home Depot
By Titus Wu Published July 1, 2026, 3:12 p.m. ETSee more of our coverage in your search results.
Add The California Post on GoogleWest Hollywood’s city council voted this week to take Home Depot off its approved list of companies to do business with — driven by anger over the Trump administration’s deportation agenda.
The liberal Los Angeles enclave is setting up a potential clash with the popular chain over allegations it has assisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement in targeting illegal migrants.

“The one vendor I would like to remove is Home Depot because of their cooperation with ICE immigration enforcement,” Councilmember Chelsea Byers said at a meeting Monday, according to the WeHo Times.
Home Depot’s removal from the city’s approved list of cooperative purchasing vendors does not necessarily bar the city from doing business with it. Instead, city government can no longer automatically buy supplies from the retailer without going through a standard competitive bidding process.
The other companies on the list can do business with West Hollywood and skip any lengthy bidding processes, as they’ve already been vetted by other public agencies.

City Manager Jackie Rocco agreed to examine the city’s relationship with Home Depot more closely, and Mayor John Heilman asked city staff to evaluate the impact of removal and prepare options for next steps.
“I know there are concerns about one particular vendor,” Rocco said.
Before the removal, West Hollywood would have authorized purchases up to $25,000 from Home Depot.

The home-improvement chain has adamantly denied having a relationship with ICE and said it even instructs employees to not engage with active law enforcement operations.
Still, the company faced criticism for videos showing ICE agents targeting day laborers who gather in the stores’ parking lots, which have become hotbeds for immigration enforcement activity. Questions have been raised over whether Home Depot shares data with ICE, though the company denies the claims.
The company has said it can’t control what happens on its parking lots.
“Because our stores and parking lots are publicly accessible, law enforcement agents do not require a warrant to enter these areas,” Home Depot says on its website. “We comply with all applicable federal and local laws in every community where we do business.”
