Add Page Six on GoogleProlific TV creator and producer Taylor Sheridan revealed he took a break from acting because he took a few “beatings” throughout his career.
On Tuesday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show,” Sheridan said the “worst beating” he took was while starring as local police chief David Hale on “Sons of Anarchy,” which ran on FX for seven seasons from 2008 to 2014.
The “Yellowstone” creator, 56, explained that “Sons of Anarchy” was a “very successful cable show,” but after filming the series, he would, “literally leave the set and go to my other job, because I didn’t make enough on that show to pay my rent and live.”

Sheridan was in the first two seasons of the biker drama, and got paid much less than his castmates, including Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman.
He said he asked for the same $20,000 the series regulars got per episode, and “they couldn’t do it.”
Sheridan told Stern, “We’re not talking about an exorbitant amount of money, especially not in LA. They said, ‘We’ll give you [$15,000], and we’ll guarantee you 10 episodes, that’s all you’re getting.’ I do the math, and I said, ‘That’s not a raise. No.’”

Sheridan alleged that his attorney was told, “We just don’t have to pay him because there’s 50 of that dude; I can recast him tomorrow.'”
After Season 2 ended, Sheridan — who was feeling disrespected — told the network, “’Guys, I’m not coming back and doing this again for this price.'”
So in the Season 3 premiere of “Sons of Anarchy,” which aired in 2010, Hale was fatally struck by a car during a drive-by shooting.

Fortunately for Sheridan, his fortunes are vastly different these days.
After writing the Oscar-nominated 2015 movie, “Sicario,” he created the American neo-Western drama television series “Yellowstone,” starring Kevin Costner. It ran for five seasons from 2018 to 2024.
Currently, Sheridan is the showrunner on several hit TV shows that attract big movie stars, including “Landman” starring Billy Bob Thornton and “The Madison” starring Kurt Russell and Michelle Pfeiffer.

In October 2025, it was also reported that Sheridan was leaving Paramount for NBC Universal – in a deal that was worth $1 billion.
And as far as acting is concerned, he hasn’t entirely left it all behind because Sheridan has appeared in front of the camera in minor roles in some of his own shows, including “Yellowstone” and “Lioness.”
In “Yellowstone,” he wrote himself a role as a horse trainer who was dating Bella Hadid in Season 5.

“Call it pride or ego or integrity, but I just realized I’ve maxed out what I can do as an actor in this industry,” he told Stern.
“So I’m not going to try to do it anymore. And the people who have all the power are the people telling stories, so I’m going to tell my own stories. That’s when I decided that I was going to write.”
In another recent interview on “The Bill Simmons Podcast,” Sheridan ripped into studio execs, slamming them for knowing, “nothing,” and delivered a scathing message to his critics: “Fuck ’em, honestly.”

Shep Rose Hints Taylor Ann Green Is ‘Back’ in His Life After She’s Spotted Filming ‘Southern Charm’
Southern Charm star Shep Rose explained how his ayahuasca journey allowed him to reconnect with ex-girlfriend Taylor Ann Green.
“You’ve got a lot of time on your hands and your mind is certainly wandering,” Shep, 46, said while discussing his experience during a Wednesday, July 1, appearance on SiriusXM’s Page Six Radio. “They say you’re holding a mirror up to yourself.”
Ayahuasca is a hallucinogenic drug, which is illegal in the United States. South American cultures, however, see it as a spiritual, social or medicinal process that allows for deep emotional healing and trauma release.
Shep recalled going “through this spiral” and reflecting on his two-year relationship with Taylor, 31, which ended in 2022.
“She loved me so much and she cared about me so much and I took it for granted and I care about her and her family very much,” Shep admitted. “Thankfully, that relationship stayed somewhat connected.”

Shep also hinted that Taylor is “a little bit back” in his life. However, he couldn’t share too many details, presumably because Southern Charm is currently filming its 12th season.
The Bravo star noted that he’s “very pleased” to be able to say that he’s in a good place with Taylor after the ups and downs they experienced.
“I thought it was [a] gone forever situation, which I’ve never really had before. I’m, at least, on nice terms with my exes,” Shep continued. “We spent so much good time, so much laughter, so much adventure and intimate moments and lovely things.”
He added, “It’s hard for me to understand how not to honor that with whether you want to call it nostalgia or what have you.”
Taylor made headlines last month when she was spotted filming Southern Charm after leaving the Bravo series in April 2025 following season 10. Instagram account Bravo & Cocktails posted a photo of Taylor filming alongside Salley Carson and Rod Razavi on June 15.

Shep Rose will always hold a special place in his heart for his ex-girlfriend and Southern Charm costar Taylor Ann Green. “I brought her into this world [of reality TV]. … I took her to places geographically that she’d never been before,” Shep, 43, exclusively told Us Weekly on Friday, November 3, during the first […]“Sally, Taylor and Rod stuck in the ATL airport overnight with cast trip filming,” the social media post read. “This was taken at 1 am. Sally is in the white with red but I didn’t get a photo of her bc was trying to be subtle.”
Us Weekly reached out to Bravo for comment at the time.

Taylor also addressed rumors that she and Shep had reconciled.
“I have seen the rumors that we’re getting back together or hooking up again or whatever, and that is not true,” she said. “Even if I wanted to hook up with Shep again or get back together, I would hope I have a little bit more respect for myself to go from one cheating ex to the other.”

Former Titans scout Blaise Taylor guilty of murdering pregnant woman with cocaine
Story byFormer Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor has been convicted of murder.
Taylor, 30, is facing a potential sentence of life in prison for allegedly poisoning 24-year-old Jade Benning, who was five months pregnant with a child authorities say Taylor fathered, with a lethal dose of cocaine in 2023. The former scout faced four total counts of murder – two for first-degree murder and two for felony murder – in the trial.
AdvertisementAdvertisementIn total, Taylor's trial lasted eight days after beginning on Tuesday, June 23. After both sides delivered their closing arguments on July 1, the jury deliberated for just under three hours before delivering their verdict.
The jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts.
Prosecutors alleged that Taylor gave Benning a drink laced with cocaine in February 2023, then called 911 and claimed she was suffering an allergic reaction. The defense argued that Benning had a history of drug use and was using drugs and alcohol during her pregnancy.
During the trial, jurors heard from many witnesses, including Benning's stepmother, one of her coworkers, one of Taylor's coworkers and medical experts including a forensic toxicologist. The jury ultimately reached a unanimous guilty verdict.
