Add The New York Post on GoogleHorrific video captured the moment a 13-year-old boy riding on the back of a motorized scooter in Queens was killed after his teen pal plowed into an open car door – hurling both boys beneath a passing truck.
Heart-stopping footage obtained by The Post shows a Honda Pilot parking in front of a supermarket on 162nd Street in Flushing around 11:36 a.m. Monday when, about 30 seconds later, the scooter, driven by another 13-year-old boy, raced by and slammed into the driver’s side door that had just been flung open.
The devastating impact launched both boys into a passing delivery truck and under the rear wheels.

The truck rolled over the scooter as the young victim lay motionless on the pavement and his friend pinned under the vehicle, the video showed.
“Ay, No!” one horrified witness screamed as another bystander sprinted over to perform chest compressions on the youngster, shouting for someone to call 911. Moments later, the teen driver crawled out from beneath the truck, pulled at his friend and staggered away in shock.

“As the door hit the scooter the truck drove by as the scooter lost control,” one local business owner said.

“The speed of the moped was faster than the truck. The real murderer was the one who gave the kids the moped. They’re both 13. You know they didn’t buy that. They don’t have licenses.”
Police said both teens were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where the passenger succumbed to his injuries and his friend was listed in stable condition.

The witness also pointed the finger at the SUV driver for flinging open the door seconds before the boys sped past – but insisted the person behind the wheel of the truck was “so innocent.”
“It is tough, but we are adults. We should look before we open the door in a tight traffic situation like this. It is summertime and there is no school.”

The truck driver, who had been circling the block in search of parking for a delivery, remained at the scene as police arrived.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.

Skip to main content BusinessJPMorgan takes aim at Wall Street regulator’s $4.25M ‘deli platter’ award after broker claimed wrongful firing
By Taylor Herzlich Published June 30, 2026, 4:19 p.m. ETSee more of our coverage in your search results.
Add The New York Post on GoogleJPMorgan has filed a motion to overturn a Wall Street regulator’s $4.25 million award to a broker who claims he was wrongly fired for ordering a deli platter on the company dime – a case that’s prompted other banks to try to crack down on jumbo judgements.
In a late Monday filing in a California federal court, JPMorgan took aim at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, or FINRA, arguing longtime wealth adviser Brent Bodner took advantage of the regulator’s rules to secure an exorbitant payout over the spendy salami incident.
“FINRA exists to promote trust and confidence in the securities industry,” but its award to Bodner “punished” JPMorgan “for truthfully advising the investing community about Bodner’s misconduct, while rewarding a wrongdoer,” the bank said, adding that it was a “lawless award.”
3
Big banks have been eager to rein in the regulator’s ability to award massive punitive sums — especially after it handed out several multimillion-dollar rewards, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Just this year, appeals courts upheld a $133 million award against Stifel Financial and a $92 million one against UBS that were awarded by FINRA – a non-governmental industry watchdog that rules on disputes among advisers, brokers, investors and institutions.

In March, FINRA asked for public comment on its methods for deciding arbitration cases. Financial powerhouses like Charles Schwab and LPL Financial, as well as Sullivan & Cromwell, the law firm representing Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan, quickly chimed in, according to the Journal.
The financial watchdog sides with institutions the majority of the time, with only 3% of all cases since 1989 resulting in punitive awards, according to its own data.
JPMorgan fired Bodner in May 2024 over a catered gathering he hosted at his Beverly Hills, Calif., home during Super Bowl weekend, saying he improperly used company money to pay for a $642.50 deli platter.
Bodner’s lawyer has argued that JPMorgan mischaracterized the gathering as a “Super Bowl party” when it was actually a pre-approved business meeting at his home involving a client and a prospective client.
FINRA awarded Bodner the eye-popping sum and recommended that his termination record be changed from “for cause” to “voluntary.”
3
JPMorgan is looking to change the official reason for the firing back — as banks rail against the regulator’s requirement that it provide a reason for employee termination on records that are often made public.
In its filing, JPMorgan argued Bodner only filed his accusations of defamation and wrongful termination because he saw the reason the bank listed his termination as “for cause” instead of “voluntary.”
The bank said it “accurately recorded the reason for Bodner’s termination” as violation of company policy, and Bodner “responded by doing what has unfortunately become all too common for FINRA-affiliated employees unwilling to accept the consequences of their own misconduct.”
Meanwhile, Bodner’s lawyer, Marc Rosen, has also criticized the financial authority for requiring employees to enter into arbitration for non-securities matters, and for allowing banks to take over former employees’ clients during such disputes.
3
“Pretextual terminations that tarnish careers of honest employees is never permissible,” Rosen told The Post in a statement.
“The Arbitrators saw and heard all of the evidence,” Rosen said, adding that he plans to defend his client against JPMorgan’s new filing and file their own motion to confirm the award.

Barstool’s Dave Portnoy Says He’s Considering Running for Politics in New York City

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has earned the title “Spencer Pratt of NYC” after he claimed he’s considering a venture into politics.
“I’ve always thought that I would never get involved in politics. I think you can do more in the private sector,” Portnoy, 49, said during a Monday, June 29, interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News, adding that he’s been thinking about Plato’s famous quote, “The price good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men.”
“Right now, I feel like that’s what’s happening,” he continued. “Not everyone’s getting out to vote. … It’s a scary time. We need leaders to step up. … Sometimes I feel like it’s my duty [to get involved.] I can’t turn away.”
Portnoy, who previously revealed he voted for President Donald Trump (R) in the 2024 election but has also stated that his political views align with both Republicans and Democrats, said he would “love” to run against current New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D), who won the mayoral election in January against Andrew Cuomo, a former Democrat who ran as an Independent.

Spencer Pratt has his eye on one thing: becoming the next Los Angeles mayor. In a June 2 primary, incumbent Karen Bass advanced to the November 3 general election against either Pratt or City Councilwoman Nithya Raman. Her opponent had yet to be announced at the time of publication. Pratt announced his unlikely candidacy one […]“I’ve had a real job, I’ve done real things, unlike these clown politicians who have never had a job and never been in the real world for a day,” Portnoy added.
Portnoy’s comments have received mixed feedback from social media users, with some hesitant to quickly endorse another entertainer-turned-politician.
“Apparently managing New York City isn’t a real job, but writing blog posts about pizza is. Good to know where we’ve set the bar,” one user wrote via X.
“Dave Portnoy, they’re going to doubt you. They’re going to tell you you can’t win against the most popular New York mayor in 100 years. They’re going to tell you reviewing pizza is not a ‘real job.’ You can’t listen to them. Portnoy 2029 is going to change politics forever,” another person added.

Spencer Pratt is saying goodbye to reality TV and hello to politics. Exactly one year after a wildfire burned down his family’s home in Pacific Palisades, California, Pratt announced that he was running for mayor of Los Angeles. “The system in Los Angeles isn’t struggling; it’s fundamentally broken,” Pratt said at the “They Let Us […]A third fan shared, “He’d be a better choice than what they have.”
Many fans online have compared the businessman to reality star Pratt, 42, who ran for mayor of Los Angeles earlier this year before his loss in the primary election to Nithya Raman on June 2. (Raman, 44, will face off against current L.A. mayor Karen Bass in the general election in November.)
“Spencer Pratt 2: Dave Portnoy,” one critic wrote, while another person added, “Dave Portnoy — the Spencer Pratt of NYC.”
Pratt, who starred on MTV’s The Hills, announced his plans to enter the mayoral race in January, citing a desire to rebuild L.A.’s “system” after wildfires the year prior. (Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their home in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood to the Palisades Fire, which killed 12 people and burned more than 6,800 homes and businesses.)

Following his loss in the primary election, Pratt declared “war” on his allegedly “corrupt” rival politicians.
