Add The California Post on GoogleLeBron James made it clear he wanted to play in the NBA with his son. The Lakers made that happen by drafting Bronny James. Now that LeBron is leaving Los Angeles, Bronny’s future with the Lakers is suddenly much less clear.
With LeBron informing the Lakers that he will play elsewhere during the 2026-27 season, attention quickly shifted to what the decision means for his son. Bronny is entering his third NBA season and remains under contract with Los Angeles after the remainder of his salary for next season became fully guaranteed.

That detail matters.
Bronny is set to make more than $2.2 million next season on the four-year deal he signed after the Lakers selected him with the No. 55 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. While his future has always been viewed through the lens of playing alongside his father, the Lakers are not required to move him just because LeBron is leaving.

In fact, keeping him may be the simpler option.
Bronny has made gradual progress since entering the league. After spending much of his rookie season developing with the South Bay Lakers, he appeared in 42 games during the 2025-26 season and earned limited playoff minutes against the Rockets and Thunder. His numbers remain modest, but his 3-point shooting improved, and he has shown signs of becoming a useful defensive guard off the bench.

For a Lakers team now moving forward around Luka Dončić and Austin Reaves, cheap backcourt depth still offers plenty of value. Bronny is not expensive, is still only 21 and has a team option for the 2027-28 season.
The more complicated scenario would involve Bronny joining LeBron’s next team.

Golden State has been heavily linked to LeBron, especially after Draymond Green declined his player option to help create flexibility. If the Warriors also make a push for Anthony Davis, they would likely need inexpensive contracts around a top-heavy roster built around Stephen Curry, LeBron, Davis and Green. In that case, Bronny’s low salary could make theoretical sense.
But the Lakers would have to cooperate in a trade. And they are no longer in the business of keeping James content.
For now, the most likely outcome is that Bronny stays in Los Angeles and continues trying to carve out his own NBA role.
LeBron’s Lakers chapter is over. Bronny’s may not be.

You Can Stream These 3 Great Cult Classics for Free in July

Affordability isn’t just a political buzzword — it’s a reality we all have to live in right now. Everything costs too much, from gas to mortgages and even subscription services like Netflix.
You know what doesn’t cost a single cent? Samsung TV Plus. Less well-known than other free streamers like Tubi and Pluto TV, Samsung TV Plus has a killer library of movies from different genres like action, thrillers and sci-fi.
This July, the platform added several cult classics that are worth watching, either for the first time or for the hundredth. From a haunting coming-of-age story starring River Phoenix to a ’90s comedy featuring Steve Martin and Diane Keaton, these films are perfect to stream on a lazy July afternoon.
‘Stand By Me’ (1986)

We recently ranked Stand by Me as one of 1986’s best movies, and one could easily argue it’s one of the best films of all time. It’s that good, and it remains the picture the late director Rob Reiner is best known for to this day. While it’s set in 1960s Oregon, Stand by Me has a timeless quality to it that makes it universally appealing — and endlessly enjoyable.

Are the best things in life free? Maybe, but it depends on the time of the year – and which streaming platform you’re using. While Netflix and HBO Max continue to raise their subscription prices, ad-supported streamers like Tubi, YouTube and Pluto TV continue to offer content that doesn’t cost a dime. In June, these […]Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Jerry O’ Connell star as four childhood friends who hear about a dead body lying near some train tracks just outside of their small town. Believing they will be considered local heroes if they locate it, they set out on an adventure to find and retrieve it. But their journey brings them unexpected perils and surprising revelations, some of which will change their lives forever.
‘Father of the Bride’ (1991)

We all could use a laugh nowadays, and there are no two men better suited to do it than Steve Martin and Martin Short. The duo is currently killing it — sometimes literally — on the hit Hulu TV show Only Murders in the Building, but they’ve collaborated a few times before. Their best team-up occurs in Father of the Bride, a 1991 remake of the classic 1950 film starring Spencer Tracy and Elizabeth Taylor.
Martin stars as George Banks, a family man who must come to terms with the fact that his firstborn child, Annie (Kimberly Williams), is getting married. He also has to accept the fact that, as the father of the bride, he has to pay for her wedding, including hiring a very expensive wedding planner, Franck, who wants to spend George’s money to realize Annie’s dreams. Not everything goes according to plan, but George will do anything — including hold the wedding afterparty at his small Pasadena house — to make sure his little girl gets the send-off she deserves.
Diane Keaton stars as George’s exasperated wife, Nina, and Kieran Culkin appears as the Banks’ young son, Matty. Directed by Charles Shyler and written by Nancy Meyers, Father of the Bride is a heartwarming comedy about a dad saying goodbye to his child and welcoming the adult woman she’s about to become. It’s funny, it’s sweet and it’s perfect to watch during the idle days of the summer.
‘Molly’s Game’ (2017)

Jessica Chastain won an Oscar for her performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, but she deserved one for her terrific work in the poker thriller, Molly’s Game. Chastain stars as Molly Bloom, a former professional skier who gets involved with illegal gambling when an injury sidelines her athletic career. At first, she partners with Dean (Jeremy Strong) and helps him run his illegal side hustle, but soon, she’s operating her own backroom poker games that attract the enigmatic Player X (Michael Cera) and various members of the Russian and Italian mafia. Molly makes a lot of money very quickly, but she also gets into trouble with the FBI, who want to put her away for a long time. Is this one game she can’t win?

How Thylane Blondeau built a $4.2M empire
This week Thylane Blondeau tied the knot with French DJ Ben Attal after a three-month engagement.
The pair, who have been together for four years, said I do in front of loved ones at a town hall ceremony at the Mairie du 16ème arrondissement in Paris.
Yet fans will no doubt be keen to know if Thylane and Ben had a prenuptial agreement in place, given the model has built an impressive $4.2million (£3.2M/€3.7m) empire.
Thylane, 25, began working at the age of four and has modelled for some of the biggest couture brands in the world including Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, L'Oréal Paris, Versace, Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.
She achieved global fame at the age of six after being dubbed the 'most beautiful girl in the world' by Vogue Enfants.
And Thylane - who is the daughter of retired footballer Patrick Blondeau and fashion designer Veronika Loubry - prides herself on forging her own path and not relying on her famous parents' names to get ahead.

She used the experiences in her youth to forge her successful businesses and skyrocket to superstardom.
Aside from her ongoing modelling career, Thylane - who boasts 6.8million Instagram followers - is the owner and founder of haircare brand ENALYHT.
She has also launched two clothing lines in her career named Heaven May and No Smile, although both businesses appear to be closed.
Thylane's hustle began at a young age and by 10 she had become the youngest model ever to appear in Vogue Paris.
However, the photoshoot was heavily criticised for 'sexualising' her after she was styled in a low-cut gold dress and heels.
Yet, this launched a career that would see her work with global fashion giants including Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, L'Oréal Paris, Versace, Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.
She shared screen space with Zendaya, Lucky Blue Smith, and Presley Gerber, when Blondeau was chosen to be a part of Dolce & Gabbana's Spring 2017 campaign.
Thylane is also the brains behind her successful haircare brand, ENALYHT.
'Each product has been designed with care and love, favoring high-performance ingredients that you can rely on every day', Thylane said.
'I quickly realized that the effectiveness of a product wasn't enough. The purity of the ingredients and their real impact on the hair are just as essential', she added.
'I made a promise to myself: if I managed to regain healthy, strong, and natural hair, I would create my own line. A line that was respectful, effective, and authentic.'
Her popular repair mask retails for €36.50 while her nourishing and repairing hair oil retails for €44.50.
Before changing career paths from modelling to entrepreneurship, she was a brand ambassador for L'Oreal Paris.

Yet despite her remarkable success, Thylane has repeatedly pushed back against the title that put her name on the map nearly two decades ago - insisting she's just a 'human being'.
In 2018, Thylane said she distanced herself from the girl who was once declared the world's 'most beautiful'.
She revealed she didn't understand the weight of the label in her childhood, and as she grew older she tried hard not to let it define her.
'When you're small, you don't really pay attention,' she explained to the Telegraph. 'People are like, "you know, you're the most beautiful girl in the world", and you're like, "I'm not, I'm just playing with my iPad".'
'Even today, people are like, "you are the most beautiful girl", and I'm like, "no, I'm still not, I'm just a human being, a teenager".'
Now Thylane has a new title - wife- after tying the knot with French DJ Ben.
Thylane looked incredible in a stunning white gown with elegant cape-style detailing as she arrived at the ceremony with her husband.
She was carrying a bouquet of white calla lilies, while holding out her other hand to her new husband as they entered the venue.
The smiling newlyweds arrived in a Porsche 356 Speedster, with their guests standing outside to greet them and snap photos.
They took the non-traditional approach of arriving at their wedding ceremony together.
The wedding came just three months after Ben popped the question.
He proposed while they were staying at the five-star Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Greece, where guests are invited to immerse themselves 'in a serene beachfront escape where sea, land, and culture come together in perfect harmony' – all for an eye-watering £600 per night.
It was here, in the exclusive grounds of the Four Seasons, that an ecstatic Thylane gave social media followers their first look at her engagement ring – a sparkling oval diamond, set in a solid gold band and worth more than £30,000.
Captioning an array of photos, the model wrote: 'I said yes to my best friend. Here’s to forever.'
