Dog missing for a month found partying with World Cup revelers

World Cup celebrations in Mexico led one worried dog owner to reunite with her beloved pup one month after she went missing.

Ale Garcia's dog, Gorda, ran off on May 24 in the Lomas de Guadalupe neighborhood of Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas, USA Today reports.

She was then left without answers about what had happened to her dog for weeks - until videos popped up online of fans taking to the streets following Mexico's 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic.

The match marked a perfect group stage for the national team, with no goals conceded, leading to massive celebrations across the country.

One fan was seen carrying a dog as he paraded through the streets in Ciudad Victoria in a video posted to a local Facebook page.

'Even the dog is out celebrating,' read the caption.

When Garcia's brother then stumbled upon the video on social media, he quickly realized the dog being carried was none other than Gorda.

At that point, Garcia and her family tracked down the location of the video, using reference points in the background - and were able to find Gorda with her new friends, who were still out celebrating.

The once-missing pooch instantly recognized her owner, and the two were reunited.

'After a month of worrying, I never imagined we'd find her thanks to a live video of the celebrations after Mexico winning,' Garcia told local reporters.

'It was a mix of emotions: I wanted to cry, to laugh, to hug her and even to scold her at the same time,' she continued. 'While we were worried looking for her, she was out partying!'
