CNN panelist left with grinning after viewer texts in flirty message
A 'viewer feedback section' made its debut on CNN NewsNight this week - and quickly devolved after an early adopter asked for a panelist's 'digits.'
Host Abby Phillip segued to the fan-mail segment by touting 'a new addition to the table.'
'You at home!' she said.
Three fan-made observations, read by her, followed.
'And this is a two-parter,' she warned as she got to the message in question.
Joining her were CNN political commentator Ashley Allison, podcaster Emily Austin, former New York Times opinion writer Charles Blow and the ex-chief of staff to Vice President Mike Pence, Marc Short.
Phillip read: '"Trump may be a blessing in disguise: He's shown us every weakness in our laws that must be fixed after he is gone."'
'"Also, I would love to get Ashley's digits."'

The latter statement spawned an almost immediate wave of laughter.
The statement left Allison, a former Obama aide, smiling and visibly stunned.

'OK,' she said tentatively.
'Period,' pro-Trump podcaster Austin proclaimed, utilizing a slang term increasingly used to refer to a definitive statement or 'mic-drop' moment.
Phillip trudged forward with the segment, despite continued cackles. She could not help but crack a smile herself. Blow let out a prolonged belly laugh.
At the center of it all was Allison, who was also snickering.
She eventually managed a 'thank you,' before another acknowledgment from Phillip toward the not-so-secret admirer.
'So, Ashley, a viewer shooting a shot for you tonight,' she joked over the sounds of more laughter.
'"Also, I would love to get Ashley's digits,"' a portion of one question read
Panelists, including former New York Times writer Charles Blow, could not help but laugh
'My DMs are open!' Allison quipped - before clarifying: 'I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking. I'm joking.'
A more serious Phillip segued: 'All right, everybody.'
The episode ended there.
Allison - a longtime Democratic strategist - worked as a senior staffer for the Biden-Harris campaign before joining CNN in 2021.

Add The California Post on GoogleA video LeBron James shared to social media Monday has eagle-eyed fans convinced they now know his next NBA destination.
In a clip James dropped on his Instagram, the Association’s all-time leading scorer could be seen taking a drive in his customized G-Wagon while listening to some tunes from Jeezy.

“Enjoying a nice cruise through my city,” James wrote in a caption on the footage.
While it was hard to make out where exactly James was in the video, the “my city” line had internet sleuths sure the Ohio-native was near Cleveland/Akron — and the outside landscape certainly was not Los Angeles.

And following Tuesday’s bombshell news that he’s now done with the Lakers, theorists were adamant that all meant a reunion with the Cavaliers is on the horizon.
James, of course, began his NBA career in Cleveland in 2003 after the Cavaliers took him with the No. 1 overall pick. He went on to play for the team for seven seasons, before he bolted for Miami.
He ultimately returned in 2014 and helped them win their first NBA championship.
In 2018, he left again for Los Angeles.
Now that James is a free agent once more, though, speculation he could return to the Cavaliers for a third time has been rampant — and videos like the one he posted from his ride earlier this week are doing nothing to slow that chatter down.
