Taylor Frankie Paul Is ‘Trying to Avoid Pain’ In the Wake of Ex Dakota Mortensen Calling Cops on Her

Taylor Frankie Paul is trying to get back to neutral after ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen called 911 alleging she violated their protection order amid their contentious custody battle.
A source close to Taylor, 32, exclusively tells Us Weekly that they believe Dakota, 33, is allegedly “ using and abusing the system to inflict the most pain and create inaccurate harmful narratives.”
The insider claims that they think Dakota’s recent actions are “seemingly to prevent a show from going on the air — which is in direct contrast to Taylor — whose priority is her family and her own well-being,” referring to Taylor’s unaired season of The Bachelorette.
“One side is trying to inflict pain, the other side is trying to manage and avoid pain,” the source further claims.

Taylor Frankie Paul has resurfaced in Utah following news that her season of The Bachelorette was scrubbed by ABC. The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 31, was spotted for the first time since the bombshell announcement, per new photos obtained by Daily Mail published on Friday, March 20. Taylor was seen on the phone […]When it comes to the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star’s well-being, the insider tells Us, it’s been “incredibly painful” for her to “watch someone deliberately create sideshows without any regard for the human consequences simply because they don’t want a show to be on the air.”
The source also alleges that since Taylor’s domestic violence incident involving Dakota made headlines in March, they think there’s been “a never-ending campaign of intimidation and misrepresentation with the only purpose to inflict as much pain as possible on Taylor.
Us Weekly reached out to Mortensen’s attorney, who declined to comment.
Taylor and Dakota, who share 2-year-old son Ever, raised eyebrows in March when reports surfaced that there had been an alleged domestic violence altercation between the pair one month prior.

He also claimed that he feared for their child’s safety.
Taylor has vehemently denied the allegations of child abuse. Dakota was granted a temporary restraining order against Taylor and temporary custody of their son in March.
Amid her personal drama, ABC chose to cancel her season of The Bachelorette, which was set to premiere in late March.

“In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of The Bachelorette at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family,” a Disney Entertainment Television spokesperson told Us in a statement at the time, referring to a video from a separate 2023 domestic violence incident that resurfaced online. (Taylor pleaded guilty to aggravated assault in 2023 and the other counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief were dropped.)
Taylor’s issues with Dakota, however, didn’t end with the TV show being pulled from the airwaves.
After an April hearing, Taylor was granted her own protection order against Dakota after claiming he assaulted her in his truck during their February altercation. Dakota has denied the allegation.
The judge ruled that both Taylor and Dakota have to stay at least 100 feet away from each other and allowed Taylor to have supervised visitation with Ever. Taylor was granted unsupervised visitation rights with her son in early June.

The Bluffdale Police Department confirmed to Us on Monday, June 29, that Dakota called the authorities at around 10 p.m. on Friday, June 26.

Knicks' Major Draft Blunder Looks Even Worse to Begin Free Agency
Knicks' Major Draft Blunder Looks Even Worse to Begin Free Agency
The Knicks' strange draft looks worse nowIsaiah De Los Santos|
In this story:
New York KnicksIn just a few hours, the Knicks' center situation has turned bleak. It began with the news that Ariel Hukporti would be leaving for the 76ers. Then it was Mitchell Robinson breaking hearts by agreeing to join the Celtics.
That leaves Karl-Anthony Towns as the only big man on New York's roster and few appealing options left in free agency. It's a mess, and one the Knicks could've completely avoided in the draft.
Knicks' strange NBA draft is now haunting them after Mitchell Robinson, Ariel Hukporti exits
The overwhelming thought when the Knicks entered the late-June draft was that the team would target a young center. They had more than enough picks to do so, owning Nos. 24, 31 and 55 ahead of the event.
Yet Leon Rose decided to cook, but he may have burned New York in the process. While picking up four future seconds is nice, and marksman Tyler Nickel could help, it can't be ignored that Rose's several trades led to the team not coming away with a single center when it was all said and done.
Skilled big men like UConn's Tarris Reed Jr. (No. 26 pick) and Houston Chris Cenac Jr. (No. 27) were still available when the Knicks decided to trade out of the No. 24 and 25 selections. In the second round, Rose had plenty of opportunities to select centers like Felix Okpara (No. 46 pick), Izayiah Nelson (No. 51) or Henri Veesaar (No. 52).
When the Knicks finally did select a big in Virginia's Ugonna Onyeso at No. 53, they then traded him away minutes later for just cash considerations. That's not even to mention the fact the team's top pick was a guard in Jack Kayil at No. 39, and he's now being stashed overseas, so more instant center helped was passed on to land him instead.
While New York's maneuvering can be chalked up to second-apron avoidance, this doesn't hold up when looking at the second round. None of those deals after the first round are guaranteed, and anyone past the 40th overall pick is a two-way contract candidate, which doesn't count against the team's cap.
Even if the team had hopes it could retain Robinson or Hukporti, drafting some insurance was the easiest variable it could control. Any player selected didn't even have to infringe on either of the incumbent bigs, especially if they would spend a majority of their time in the G League.
Simply put, the Knicks punted on a golden opportunity to add center talent for no good basketball reason. There were affordable ways to still go about adding a big man, which wouldn't have gotten in the way of possibly keeping Robinson and/or Hukporti.
Now, not only does the team have two huge holes, but there aren't many alluring guys left to fill those needs. New York also lost a promising developmental project in Hukporti, so it's short on both immediate successors and a potential long-term one to develop, both of which could've been solved through the draft.
Surely Rose and his front office have considered this outcome as a possibility. But given the unexpected way free agency has gone to this point, they may not have the answers they were hoped were available, either.
At the every least, this sudden center debacle—which was completely avoidable and a true unforced error—does raise some questions about how Rose is operating this offseason to still field a championship-worthy team.

Juan Soto's feud with Mets teammate revealed by owner in wild move
Under fire New York Mets owner Steve Cohen has made the remarkable move of confirming that there was a feud between $765million star Juan Soto and Francisco Lindor last season.
The Mets brought Soto to Queens in 2024 by offering him the largest contract in the history of sports after he left city rivals New York Yankees to enter free agency. But after lighting it up in the Bronx and reaching the World Series, his time with the Mets has so far been a disaster.
They have one of the worst records in baseball so far in 2026 on 36-51 after Wednesday's loss to Toronto Blue Jays, recently firing manager Carlos Mendoza. And last year, while things weren't as bad as they are now, they failed to make the playoffs after breaking the bank to land Soto.
Now, it has become a little bit clearer as to why after Cohen's extraordinary comments to the New York Post.
'Frankly, I think that's a story that was last year’s story,' Cohen said about the long-rumored tension among fans between Soto and Lindor.
'I am told and believe strongly that these guys are getting along much better. And so, I just don't see that as an issue anymore.'
Juan Soto had tension with Francisco Lindor during his first year with the New York Mets
The feud with Lindor (pictured) was confirmed by the Mets owner, Steve Cohen
He also quashed any talk of either leaving the team. Soto still has 13 years to go on the astonishing 15-year deal that he inked while Lindor has another six left on his 10-year contract.
'I don’t see them going anywhere,' he said. 'I'm lucky enough to have two high-quality players like that and with the elimination of whatever issues there were last year, I'm thrilled that they’re on the team.'
There had, however, been speculation that Lindor could have been moved on during the most recent offseason.
The comments from Cohen are striking though given the team's struggles this year. His hope for the future lies in Soto and Lindor not just being friends again, but getting out onto the field together more often.
Lindor has only recently returned due to a calf issue that sidelined him for two months of the season.
Soto has had a brilliant individual campaign so far with the Mets with a .971 OPS and 17 home runs to his name.
