Strictly host Josh Widdicombe reveals daughter was rushed to hospital
Josh Widdicombe's daughter was rushed to hospital after she broke her arm whilst he was away working.
The comedian, 42, was shocked to hear from his wife, TV producer turned interior designer Rose Hanson, that Pearl, eight, was put under anaesthetic because her injury, caused by doing a cartwheel at school, was so severe.
On the June 26 episode of his and 40-year-old Rob Beckett's Parenting Hell podcast, Josh shared: 'I've had such a f****** dramatic few days. F*** me! So on Thursday, my daughter broke her arm ...
'Anyway, my daughter broke her arm doing a cartwheel. I was away working. So Rose calls me, "She's broken her arm." But do you know what? She was hard as nails. She had to go to the hospital. Proper breaks.'
The Strictly Come Dancing host said Pearl had to be put under anaesthetic so that doctors could 'reset' her arm.
Josh, who moved from London to Exeter with his family last year, noted that her school pals, who witnessed the accident, were left shaken.

He added: 'Her friends were quite affected by it. They both cried after school, the ones that saw. You know when footballers see a bad injury near them.'
After Rob asked if Pearl was OK, Josh said that the youngster is doing well, and that doctors put her arm in a cast.
He added: 'We're going to the hospital on Friday to have the check-up to see when it comes off, stroke, whether you can get a shorter cast, all this kind of stuff.'
The Celebrity Traitors' Rob wondered if the cast was 'over the elbow', and Josh replied it was, adding: 'I mean, it looks rubbish. She's taking it very well.
'It's her right hand, but actually turns out she's quite good with her left hand now. She can write with her left hand, it turns out.'
As well as Pearl, Josh and Rose - who married in 2019 - are also parents to a five-year-old son named Cassius.
From September, The Last Leg star is fronting Strictly Come Dancing alongside Emma Willis, 50, and 39-year-old Johannes Radebe - who has been a pro on the BBC Latin and Ballroom dance show since 2018.

The trio have replaced Tess Daly, 57, and Claudia Winkleman, 54, who quit at the end of the 2025 series in December.
In a statement, Josh said: 'Dancing the Charleston dressed as a penguin for the 2024 Christmas Special of Strictly remains my career high point, so I am giddy with excitement, honoured and a little overawed to be given the chance to step into the biggest shoes in television.
'I adore Emma and Jojo and can't wait to spend my weekends with them. I'll dust off the penguin costume.'
Blake Lively Seeks $8 Million in Attorney Fees From Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios
Blake Lively has asked a judge to award her $8 million in attorneys’ fees and costs for having to defend against Justin Baldoni‘s defamation suit against her.
Lively accused Baldoni, her co-star and director, of sexually harassing her on the set of “It Ends With Us,” and of launching an online whisper campaign against her after she complained. In response, Baldoni and his Wayfarer Studios filed a $400 million defamation suit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, alleging that they had weaponized false allegations of harassment in order to seize control of the film.

The defamation suit was dismissed last year, after the judge ruled that Lively’s allegations were protected by litigation privilege. Lively dropped her lawsuit against Baldoni, Wayfarer, and others on the eve of trial in May. No money changed hands in the settlement, but Lively was allowed to pursue her motion for fees.

Judge Lewis Liman agreed earlier this month that Lively should receive attorney fees under a 2023 California law meant to protect sexual abuse accusers from retaliatory defamation suits. At the same time, he denied Lively’s request for damages.
In a motion filed on Monday night, Lively’s lawyers stated they billed her $7.5 million in fees — at rates as high as $2,187 per hour — in the course of defending against the defamation suit. Another $540,000 was spent on legal costs.
Her attorneys argued that the fee award would help to deter frivolous and retaliatory suits against accusers in the future.
“This gross abuse of the legal system was not meant to win in court — its aim was to retaliate against Lively by falsely branding her a liar, intimidating witnesses and the media, and discouraging others from speaking out,” they wrote in the motion.
The $8 million in fees represents only a fraction of the legal costs incurred by Lively during the course of 18 months of litigation against Baldoni. The fee award does not cover any costs associated with her own suit, which entailed extensive depositions, other discovery, document review, motion practice, and public relations.
Michael Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, Lively’s lead attorneys, hailed the judge’s earlier ruling allowing them to seek reimbursement for defending against the defamation suit.
“Thanks to this landmark decision, those considering using a lawsuit as a weapon of intimidation have been put on notice that there are consequences for doing so,” they said in a statement. “The value of this ruling is in the precedent it creates, the accountability it imposes, and the protection it provides to those who may one day find themselves facing similar retaliation for speaking the truth.”
Baldoni’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, previously downplayed the judge’s ruling,
“Ms. Lively was only awarded limited attorney fees for a single claim as part of a case that lasted only a matter of months, nothing more,” he said earlier this month, noting that 10 of Lively’s 13 claims were thrown out by the judge before the settlement. “Notwithstanding that all of her sexual harassment and defamation claims were thrown out by the court, Ms. Lively then pivoted to exploit a California law that was established to protect real victims in what proved to be a fruitless mission to obtain damages. Once again, she failed.”
Baldoni’s team declined to comment on the request for fees, but will have an opportunity to respond in court before a sum is awarded.

Aaron Donald Return to Rams Receives New Update
Story by

There have been plenty of reports and rumors regarding whether or not Aaron Donald could truly return to the Los Angeles Rams. He did share a couple of texts with Pat McAfee and Aaron Schultz, which brought a new light to the idea of him taking the field gain.
Now, a new update has been provided by California Post columnist Vincent Bonsignore. While talking about the sheer impact of Donald's return, the columnist indicated, per league sources, that the future Hall of Famer is "seriously" considering coming back.
AdvertisementAdvertisement"Multiple league sources indicate the greatest defensive player in Rams history is seriously contemplating coming out of retirement to lend a massive helping hand to the club’s Super Bowl aspirations.
"Inspired by the Rams’ addition of Garrett, and motivated by the tantalizing possibilities of joining forces with the best pass rusher in the NFL, Donald might actually dust off his Superman cape for a triumphant return."
It is not shocking that Donald is considering a return to the field, especially given the current state of the Rams roster. It is that and what has been well-established is the fact that the former Los Angeles defensive end could have the chance to play with Myles Garrett.
Garrett's arrival was one that nobody quite saw coming, but the kind of move that the Rams and general manager Les Snead have been known for. Similar to the 2021 season in which Von Miller and Jalen Ramsey were acquired, the team brought in Garrett, Trent McDuffie, and Jaylen Watson to help the defense in a major way.
AdvertisementAdvertisementDonald would not be stepping in to help an ailing team get back to its previous glory. He would be coming back as a complement to a team and unit that is well-built for a deep postseason run.
Even if the Rams defender were to come in and play only half the snaps he would in a normal season, his arrival would transform the defense even more. Donald has kept in shape, but playing shape is different than just being in shape.
Donald might also be used in a third-down type of situation, allowing him to potentially play at a pace that would not burn him out.
There would be myriad ways that Chris Shula could use Donald if he were to truly come back, and having two Defensive Players of the Year on one team would be unheard of.
AdvertisementAdvertisementDonald still has plenty of time to decide if he wants to take the field, as training camp does not start until the end of July. Though he would still need to get acclimated to how things work again, he could come in a bit later into training camp.
The Rams already pulled off the trade for Garrett, but the idea that they could get back arguably their greatest defensive player would push this team into an area where they may just be unbeatable.
