Harry Kane says singing 'Wonderwall' with fans following England's win over Croatia on Wednesday was one of his "favourite ever moments" in a Three Lions shirt.

The England captain scored twice in a 4-2 victory in Dallas to help his side make a winning start to their World Cup campaign.

After the match, Kane and his team-mates celebrated in front of joyous England fans at the Dallas Stadium as they sang Oasis' 1995 hit Wonderwall.

"That was one of my favourite ever moments in an England shirt and especially at a major tournament," Kane said on the Lions' Den podcast.

"I know it's just the first game and we're not getting carried away, but just that emotional connection with the fans... We know how much it means to them.

"We have that connection right now but just that moment, singing Wonderwall in the stadium... Everyone knew the words and that was a really special moment."

England manager Thomas Tuchel has spoken about wanting to continue the work former boss Gareth Southgate did in building a connection between fans and the squad after years of dismal tournaments.

Under Southgate, England reached the World Cup semi-finals in 2018 as well as the European Championship finals in 2021 and 2024 as fans rallied behind the squad.

Kane is one of three players, alongside goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and defender John Stones, to remain in the side from 2018.
