A department store in a UK town that has been open for over 100 years has announced its closure, to the disappointment of the local community. The owners of the business have listed a number of reasons for the shock decision, including rising labour costs and business rates, which have forced a number of retail businesses to close in recent months and years. Hancock and Wood in Warrington, Cheshire, has announced a closing-down sale.
