Liverpool have been tipped to shake up their midfield options this summer.

Alexis Mac Allister is only under contract until 2028 and no negotiations exist over a new deal. If no accord is struck then Richard Hughes may listen to offers for the Argentina FIFA World Cup winner this summer.

Curtis Jones is out of contract in 2027 and to prevent the 25-year-old leaving on a free club bosses are prepared to let him join Inter Milan for around £26m.

And should one or both of those midfielders leave then Liverpool would require quantity - and quality - in the sector.

Khephren Thuram turns down Turkiye

One name tipped to come in as a replacement for Jones is France international Khephren Thuram. The 25-year-old - currently starring for Juventus - has been linked with an exit due to mounting financial trouble in Turin.

Having missed out on Champions League qualification the Old Lady of Italian football require sales. Thuram is one of their most bankable assets and although he would be a reluctant mover Juventus could well cash in for around £43m to £48m.

That’s according to a report in Sports Boom - which claims Liverpool and Manchester United are the “heavyweights” in this transfer showdown.

Liverpool and Man Utd eye up deal for Khephren Thuram

Thuram has been targetted by Turkish Super Lig pair Galatasaray and Fenerbahce but there is no chance of a deal to be done. That leaves the Premier League as the midfield dynamo’s most likely destination - with Nottingham Forest also plotting an audacious raid.

“Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have both shown strong interest in the 25-year-old French midfielder,” the report reads.
