King Charles offered to help cover the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's security arrangements when they return to the UK next month, it is claimed. Prince Harry has long decried the decision to downgrade his security after he quit as a senior working royal in 2020 and moved to the US with his family.

In May, the King's youngest son lost a legal case to have his police protection reinstated when he visits the UK. In a BBC interview after the ruling, Harry said that the outcome meant it was not safe to bring his family back to the UK because he couldn't guarantee their safety.
