Nobody's won more combined regular season and playoff games since I entered the league 10 years ago, reminding the world just how accomplished he is.
He demanded Bobby Marks reveal a source after Bobby said analytics guys viewed him as the seventh-best player on a team.
I cannot believe that from, from Bobby.
What do we make of this?
We got Jaylen out here reminding people that he's still Jaylen Dan Brown.
Look, that Bobby Marks report, and it's not, I'm not saying that Bobby Marks is this, but I'm saying the report and his source, that's just dumb.
Like, that's just not correct.
Like, that's just If that's the opinion, or if that's what the numbers told him, it's just not right.
It's not correct.
And I think it's far too vague of a statement to make.
And the seventh-best player on a team.
On what team?
'Cause he's not the seventh-best player on the Boston Celtics.
The second-best player?
Sure, we can talk about that.
But, like, what team are you constructing that Jaylen Brown is the seventh-best player on it?
Like, is this a team, a fairy tale hypothetical fantasy land team with, you know, Nikola Jokic, with SGA, with Victor Wembanyama, with Luka Doni, with, with LeBron James, with all of these all-stars, with all these kinds of players that are making a super max, and Jaylen Brown just happens to be, you know, knocked down the totem pole to the seventh-best player?
Like, even then, that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
So this is kind of my frustration with a lot of people that live and die by the analytics.
A lot of times numbers just don't tell the whole story, because Bobby Marks, he, he was on Sirius XM and I listened to the entirety of the, of the conversation, and Bobby Marks did lay out a couple of red flags and reasons why teams might be afraid to just absolutely sell the farm in order to acquire Jaylen Brown.
We've heard reports that the Celtics want four first-round picks for Jaylen Brown.
If you are mortgaging your future to acquire Jaylen Brown, you wanna know that all of your d- your T's are crossed and your I's are dotted.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAnd Bobby Marks pointed out, look, he's 29 years old, going on 30.
Like, the, the You know, it's fair to say that his best years, the window of his best years are shrinking.
That, you know, there's just fair concerns to be made about Jaylen Brown, that maybe some of the analytics say that he's kind of a ball hog, he doesn't move the ball around enough.
Those are all, I think, fair and important things to point out whenever you are considering trading four first-round picks or a superstar in exchange for Jaylen Brown.
But at the end of the day, there's not a single world or a single number or a single analytic that can tell me that Jaylen Brown is the seventh-best player on any given team in the NBA.
That's just stupid.
That's just wrong.

Badenoch blasts 'moaning' female Labour MPs over Burnham jobs 'quota'

Kemi Badenoch has told Labour women to earn a job in Andy Burnham's Cabinet instead of demanding they are handed jobs because of their gender.
The Tory leader lashed out today amid reports that female MPs are demanding the de-facto new prime minister introduce a 50:50 gender split 'quota' in his government.
Amid reports that former foreign secretary David Miliband is being lined up to return to the role, possibly with his brother Ed as Chancellor, one female minister also complained that Burnham could not have 'more Milibands than women' in the top posts.
But in a scathing article in the Times today Mrs Badenoch told them to 'stop moaning' and get chosen on merit instead of retreating into 'more of the failed identity politics that is holding back our country'.
'There are many, many reasons why you shouldn't have any Milibands in the cabinet,' she said.
'But complaining that the boys haven't given them the right jobs or that the boys are taking all the jobs, just shows that Labour's women still don't get it.'
The idea of quotas was also attacked by Baroness Jacqui Smith, Labour's Skills Minister.
Asked by Times Radio if Mr Burnham should reserve jobs for women, she said: 'No, I think what Andy Burnham should be doing is building the very best team around him to change this country.'
A letter written by the Women's Parliamentary Labour Party has called on Mr Burnham to ensure a 50:50 split between men and women in government jobs
Amid reports that former foreign secretary David Miliband (above, right, in 2010) is being lined up to return to the role, possibly with his brother Ed as Chancellor, one female minister complained that Burnham could not have 'more Milibands than women' in the top posts
But Mrs Badenoch told them to pipe down and get chosen on merit instead of retreating into 'more of the failed identity politics that is holding back our country'
A letter written by the Women's Parliamentary Labour Party and seen by the BBC has called on Mr Burnham to ensure a 50:50 split between men and women in government jobs after he succeeds Sir Keir Starmer.
'We are asking you to demonstrate this change from day one and address the toxicity and misogyny within our own party and government,' it said.
Labour has never had a female leader, while the Conservatives have had three, and Mrs Badenoch urged the government to follow its meritocratic example.
'If you run a meritocracy, then you do not have to worry about jobs for the boys,' she wrote.
'Every woman who is a Conservative MP, every woman who has ever won the leadership, has had to fight to get where she is.
'By contrast, Labour women are demanding guarantees from Burnham. But the truth is he doesn't have to give any guarantees.
'If none of Labour's women are prepared to get their hands dirty and challenge him for the leadership, their demands are toothless.'
'In fact, it's quite revealing that the women's parliamentary Labour Party has written to Burnham asking him to commit himself to at least 50 per cent female ministers.
'This has nothing to do with meritocracy. It is yet more of the failed identity politics that is holding back our country.'
