Former Titans RB Chris Johnson Reveals ALS Diagnosis

A heavy news for so many fans of the Tennessee Titans and fans of Chris Johnson.

He, went on Good Morning this morn- Good Morning America this morning talking to Michael Strahan and revealed to the world that he has been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

He said that he has no h- family history of ALS.

He has what is called sporadic ALS, so there was no indicator that this would happen.

Unfortunately, he noticed some weakness in his right hand, so he and his wife decided to go get it checked out, and now he's found out at the age of 39 that he has the diagnosis of ALS.

There is no current known cure.

Obviously, this is devastating for his family.

It's devastating for him.

It's devastating for everybody around him.

Caroline, certainly this player, this human being, this man has meant so much to fans of the NFL, so much to fans of the Tennessee Titans.

You and I both spent time in Nashville.

He is legendary in that city.

this is shocking for all of us and certainly heartbreaking for Chris and his family.

This is absolutely devastating.

You mentioned the time that we both were able to spend in Nashville, and, and Chris Johnson is a legend.

Chris Johnson is larger than life itself within that organization.

So of course, this kind of diagnosis would be devastating for anyone, but especially for someone that ha- is so beloved, especially for somebody who has it was, has such a physical gift and brought so many great memories and great years of successful football to the Tennessee Titans.

It's an unfortunate and harrowing reminder that sometimes we put athletes up on a pedestal.

Sometimes we think they're otherworldly.

Sometimes we think that they are totally and completely invincible, but this is just a really unfortunate reminder that they're just human, that we are, we are all just human.

I think it's also a wonderful reminder to go to the doctor if something doesn't feel right.
