We're not even a month into the transfer window yet and silly season already feels like it's upon us.

Every summer, the Premier League are often the busiest teams in the transfer market with each club signing at least one player.

In fact, most of them sign multiple players each season to try and compete for as much silverware as possible.

That hasn't always been the case with Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp often looked to promote from within rather than source talent from elsewhere.

But, that changed in the 2025-26 season with the club spending over £450 million on new players.

Despite this obscene amount of spending, the Reds actually ended up worse off than they started as they finished fifth in the table.

After the season finished, rumours emerged about what the future held for Liverpool and their players and now, a major update has been shared regarding one of their star men.

Rio Ngumoha and Bayern Munich never agreed terms on a contract despite their interest

One story that rocked Liverpool fans earlier in June was the fact that Bayern Munich wanted to sign Rio Ngumoha.

After the Bundesliga outfit missed out on Anthony Gordon, they turned their attention towards the young Englishman after an impressive season.

This news shocked fans as most people see him as the next big thing at the club and potentially their next Luis Diaz so, the fact that some reports went as far as to say that terms between the left-winger and Bayern were already agreed was fairly scary.

But, since that first report emerged, nothing more has been said on the topic with journalist David Lynch providing a fresh update on the situation.

"From Rio Ngumoha’s perspective, while Bayern did make contact with his representatives in an attempt to lay the foundations for a move, claims that terms had been agreed between the two parties are understood to be entirely false," he wrote.

"The same goes for suggestions that the door to a departure might have been left ajar because of Ngumoha’s unhappiness with the minutes he picked up at Liverpool last season.

"In reality, the teenager was fully appreciative of the careful handling he received from Arne Slot last term."
