Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) CEO Dana White and President Donald Trump agreed that the United States Marine Band’s performance at the UFC Freedom 250 event on the White House’s South Lawn warranted a surprise award.

Appearing on the “Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday, White gushed over the talent in the Marine Band, known as “The President’s Own.”

“The President’s Own Band is the name of that band,” he said. “They were so incredible that like the Red Hot Chili Peppers would come on and people though it was the Red Hot Chili Peppers! … One of the fighters walked out to Drake and it was the band!”

He recalled watching an “incredible” performance of AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” during rehearsals, adding that the band is “so off-the-charts.”

White announced that he had a meeting with the president to determine a way to reward the performances from the celebration, including country singer Zac Brown’s rendering of the national anthem.

“We had [an] executive meeting yesterday. We’re talking about putting together all of their music that they played at the White House and Zac Brown’s rendition of “Star Spangled Banner” and putting it together in … an album format for Freedom 250,” he said.

White also recounted a moment during the event when the president leaned over to him and said, “I’m gonna give the band a fight bonus.”

After hosting a concert during the event’s Saturday night Fan Fest, Brown returned on Sunday, which also marked Flag Day and President Trump’s 80th birthday, to sing the national anthem.

The Marine Band performed each fighter’s walkout songs live throughout the event, requiring a wide range of musical styles sung in multiple different languages. The President’s Own is not only the oldest U.S. military band, but the oldest professional musical organization in the country, established in 1798.

Can we all give a shout out to Staff Sgt. Hannah Davis the U.S. Marine band vocalist!

She absolutely crushed it tonight at UFC Freedom 250!
